It is very apparent that I rarely post, yet spring seems to be a time when I remember I have a website at all! Probably because I get sent a bill . . . haha.

Over the past year I enjoyed publishing a few issues of my on-again-off-again magazine Intangience. There were some really great contributions and then the submissions fizzled away. People ought to look them up!! Perhaps I will try a yearly issue next year. Anyaway . . .

Here are a few poems witten for contests on allpoetry.com in the past 12 months

   Zeitgeist

Feathers and fissures
scream
zephyrs and swishers
zapping and snapping
bring
hopping and popping
zig and zag
pig and stag
zero chance to claim one
fishers and leathers bake in the sun
as I climb to the zenith
above

  Yesterday's Toil

Coaxing life through wishful thinking; Plunging seeds into the soil
Earth-stains linger on her conscience; Thoughts of turmoil bleed
And feed
Giving life to panicked memories; 'Til she plunges one more seed
Soothing rhythm - patient cadence; Dancing motions - sweet release

Gentle windsong breathes, caresses; Singing rain is on its way
Sundrenched garden, parched and hoping; Lying naked in the heat

Hidden magic beneath the surface; Earth and water co-conspire
Granting wishes whispered softly; Floating by on seeds of fluff

Feeding
Feeding
Past and Future
Memories sweet and imprecise
Let it go into the ether
Breathe it out - inhale anew

Sun and rain and little seeds; Soil and heat... A home for hope
Wishes and dreams
and
Whispered desires

Yesterday’s toil for tomorrow’s reward
Sit in the moment and feel the dream
Sit
and feel the dream

This next poem was written for a contest with a prompt asking for specific words to be included those words are maked by an *

 Who Caught Who?

I was dead meat
raw steak* and he was a dog
a drooling* fool lapping at my plate*

But really, I was the fool
a complete* goner
I drowned* in the eyes of my date

I couldn't look away,
move,* or speak
sweaty, clammy, damp*

Dizzy,* I dropped to my seat
but he drew* me out
onto the dance floor

Since* when did I agree?
But he molded* me into him
and we swayed, need I say more?

Yeah, I stayed.*

Pictures of my recent trip to Hawaii some of my family playing a children's game that prepared islanders for war "games" later on.
